NMD engaged in the Construction, Environmental and Heritage aspects of the project, objective of NMD’s role was to ensure that at concept stage NMD assisted in obtainment of all mining approvals) then we built the mining hub, rail line (450km) and the seaport expansion at Port Hedland.  

Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Obtaining mining approvals to construct and operate from Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (commerce.wa.gov.au )
• Ensuring preservation of heritage sites
• Obtaining Mining approvals from Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety
• Provided engineering constructability advise to the design team for the RGP5 railway network, delivering all rail engineering and design functions across the full project life cycle agreement.
• Regular site monitoring across the entire rail line, that included major duplication of more than 270km plus a new Chichester deviation construction of heavy haul track, including track works, earthworks, drainage, and access roads.

NMD supervised construction of prestige homes throughout Queensland. NMD was responsible for day-to-day construction activities, manpower, resource management and QHSE Management at site. 

Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Overseen land acquisition and project planning
• Directly Supervised tradesmen involved in Construction of several prestige developments per year at different sites.
• Developed relationships with local, national and international suppliers, ensuring supply reliability at short notice
• Oversaw all QHSE matters related to daily activities
• Cost reduction.
• Interviewed staff and distributed them across different projects as per their skills set
• Dealt with government agencies on a continual basis

NMD were involved in the complete project management of environmental and marine related activities, including but not limited to: dredging, quay walI construction, dewatering, water flow simulations, cost control, maintenance and operation, involved in design, construction and operation of completed project sections.

 Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Reduction of environmental monitoring cost.
• Contractor/Consultant progress tracker
• Developed an aspect and impact register that tracked all construction/design activities from 25+ contractors/consultants /operators
• Developed an Overall Environmental Management Plan for Construction and Operation Stages.
• Represented the client to government bodies, NOC management.

NMD had a responsibility of managing the entire design process from concept design until IFC inclusive of all infrastructure components (wet utilities- extensive gas networks/dry utilities, civil, architectural, structural). 

Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Ensured that the contractor commenced their work activities on time; by making sure all permits were in place prior to the pre-mobilisation survey
• Assisted in establishing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
• Ensured that all LREDC regulations were met
• Enforced a penalty system with respect to different Environmental incidents.
• Ensured that all structures and main infrastructure supporting the LRT stations was constructed on time and as per Qatar Rail Specification
• Contract supervision, from mobilization to completion of construction activities.
• Assisted the development of an Overall Construction Environmental Management Plan

NMD Managed complete environmental, sustainability, marine/coastal projects from design to operation stage of Manateq's economic zones and logistics park construction projects. 

Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Ensured client representation with regulatory authorities,
• Enforced all Special Economic Zones SOPs
• Enforced GSAS/LEED Sustainability requirements
• Construction supervision
• Project Cost Monitoring
• Ensured that Manateq and Dorsch were continually involved in Qatarization Program engaging in:
  • work experience programs,
  • Student guided tours of projects
  • Community/Stakeholder project tours

NMD oversaw all Construction, Commercial (Tender Review/Selection), HR, Environmental, Health, Safety, Sustainability and Social management works for Ashghal’s Projects. 

NMD managed Senior/Resident Engineers, Planners, QHSE, Materials, Quantity Surveyors from fifteen (15) different projects reporting to me.

Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Supervision Staff Selection and mobilisation
• Contractor staff approval and mobilisation
• Tender preparation and evaluation,
• Technical advisor to PWA on Contractor performance
• Ensuring that all Contractors whether Construction or Operation continually met the Regulatory Criteria (Ashghal, Kahrama, MME, MOI, MOTC)
• Developed inspection/audit schedules and inspection/audit criteria, for all parties involved, at all disciplines of work.
• Implemented a penalty system based on different Contractual requirements.

NMD Ensured that ESIA (Environmental, Social Impact Assessment) measures were implemented across site-wide construction activities with particular focus on Marine Protection.

Some of NMD’s duties were:

• Provide leadership and direction to the Project team to ensure that the works are executed by the various Consultants and Contractors are in line with the requirements RSG Env and Sus Vision
• Developed and approved procedures, policies, training material for the RSG Env and Sus Vision
• Obtaining mining approvals from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (mim.gov.sa) for RSG to ensure sufficient material can be sourced for construction purposes from Tabuk Region.
• Enforcing NCEC and IFC (International Finance Corporation) specifications from concept stage till operation
• Contractor, Supervision and team selection,
• Tender preparation and evaluation,
• Technical advisor to Construction Delivery team on Contractor and Operator performance,
• Developing RSG Environmental and Sustainability SOPs
• Ensuring all Construction Permits, Road Opening, CESMP, HSE Plans are approved on time and in line with Special Economic Zones Regulations
• Ensuring that all marine works are in line with RSG Env and Sus objectives inclusive of MARPOL Criteria
• Involved in Saudization Program

NMD oversaw the entire development of construction regulations for the Royal Commission KSA.

NMD is seconded to the Amazon project overseeing the Project Management & Construction Management of JED4 Amazon Fulfilment Centre.
